About Us

Not for profit Animal Rescue. It's just me, but for them, I can be everything.

Buddy was so loving and trusting even though everyone else had given him no reason to be.

Our History

My name is Jamie and I am a Board Certified Veterinary Technician.  On my own, I have taken in, fostered and adopted out 60 animals to date.  The idea to officially start the Welcome Home Buddy Newborn, Hospice & Rehabilitation Animal Rescue began in the Spring of 2018 after I took in a 13 year old Golden Retriever/yellow Lab mix to Foster.  He had been thrown into a local lake, left to drown or freeze to death in the frigid early spring water.  He was only a day or two away from starving to death, covered in fleas and clearly had been beaten most of his life.  I worked closely with the Veterinarians at my work and after trying everything that we could possibly think of, we determined that his care had turned to hospice.  It broke my heart that there was nothing else we could try; he was very very sick.  I was determined to make his last days his best.  Through the generosity of people through donation sites like this GoFundMe and Venmo, he was able to live a very happy, very loved 63 days with me before he passed on.  He was so loving and trusting when his previous owners had given him no reason to be.  His name was Buddy and he changed my life in every way.   A Facebook page was created to share his story, Welcome Home, Buddy (please join this site, if you haven't already!)  Through that Facebook page, I have been lucky enough to meet some of the most giving, kind and supportive people in the world.  Buddy taught me to see the true good in everyone.  People donated prayers, good thoughts, financial assistance or sometimes all of the above!   Financial donations are used to cover the huge mountain of expenses that are required for each Foster Animal I take in.   Buddy was able to get amazing orthopedic beds, warm blankets for his old bones and his favorite teddy bear to snuggle every night among other items to "spoil" him through his last days.  I was also able to provide Buddy with all of the items he needed every single day like his many many medications, several Doctor appointments, diapers, prescription food, appetite stimulants, medical testing, x-rays and many other supplies I needed to get him through his 24-hour a day care.  I take full responsibility for every foster animal I bring into my home.  They deserve unconditional love, attention and care and I make sure they each get that.   I have and will always go without for myself so that every animal I bring in to my care is ensured the best possible life they can have.  However, my finances can only stretch so far.  With the incredible generosity of financial donations, I am able to do so much more for each foster! Please join the Facebook page, Welcome Home, Buddy for my latest fosters and frequent updates!!!!
